  • Orders for the Naperville VFW Annual Spring Plant Sale are due Monday, March 30, with over 100 plants available for your spring and summer garden; pick-up will take place Friday, May 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. at 908 Jackson Avenue while supporting the VFW.  Positively Naperville
  • Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 at (908 W. Jackson Ave) offers free parking for February events including Mardi Gras Day on Feb. 17, Friday Night Fish Fry starting Feb. 20, and a Mardi Gras celebration on Feb. 26 featuring Chef Terrell Cole and Dark Horse Grill at 6PM for $50.  Positively Naperville

CULTURE NEWS

  • Naperville residents can attend a free Presidents’ Day Celebration and exhibit opening at Naper Settlement on Monday, Feb. 16, from 10 AM to 4 PM; the event will include historical activities, hands-on demos, and guided tours of the new exhibit 'We the People: Naperville and the American Story.'  Positively Naperville

EDUCATION NEWS

  • North Central College is launching its Master’s Entry to Nursing Practice program this fall for bachelor’s degree holders seeking a career change. The 2-year course offers 700 clinical hours and a 3+2 pathway for high school graduates, aiming to ease the local nursing shortage.  Naperville News 17
  • Indian Prairie School District 204 approved four new principals for Prairie Children Preschool, May Watts Elementary, Spring Brook Elementary and Metea Valley High School; the administrators will start their roles on July 1.   • On Tuesday night, over 128 people across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Wisconsin spotted a bright fireball in the sky. The American Meteor Society received videos from doorbell and security cameras and ruled out space debris — social media buzz helped spread the word.  FOX 32
