********* Friendly reminder This group is for vegans, or those who are interested in learning about veganism and/or going vegan. The goal of this group is to build a community of vegans who meet up mostly in the NW suburbs. *********

An opportunity to volunteer at an animal rescue, followed by lunch! Join us for one or both activities. 🙂

Volunteer location & details We'll meet at Roxy's Farm ( https://www.roxysfarm.com ), located at 15613 Brisbin Road, Minooka, IL 60447. Our goal will be to help prep the goats for winter: sweeping enclosures, bagging hay, adding new hay, and maybe other tasks. Please bring casual, warm clothes (in case it is chilly), closed-toe shoes, and water. You can also bring fruits (e.g. bananas or apples) and vegetables (e.g. lettuce) if you want to feed the animals.

Meeting time Meeting time is 10:00am. Please try to reach by 9:50am. If you reach after 10:10am, we may have already started our tasks and it may be difficult for us to work together as a group, or you may be assigned to tasks elsewhere on the farm.

Lunch After volunteering, at approximately 12:30pm, we'll meet at The Vegan Cafe, located at 928 S State St, Lockport, IL 60441. It's about a 40-minute drive to the restaurant from Roxy's Farm, but is on the way back towards 355, if you take that route home. This is a 100% all raw vegan restaurant.
