Metropolis Performing Arts' Family Series of “A Christmas Carol,” Dec. 3-19

About this event

**Metropolis Performing Arts Centre,** located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights, 111 W. Campbell St., is proud to announce *A Christmas Carol*, with a Metropolis Family Series run December 3 - 19. *A Christmas Carol* is adapted by Johanna McKenzie Miller with original music and lyrics by Cory Goodrich. Goodrich also serves as the director and music director for the production.

Metropolis’ holiday tradition, *A Christmas Carol*, returns for its 25th year. One cold Christmas Eve, the miserly Scrooge receives a visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past, who takes him on a journey that will change him forever. Through the visitation of three ghosts – Christmas Past, Present and Future, Scrooge realizes that his greedy, selfish behavior has alienated and hurt everyone around him and resolves to change his ways. He awakes on Christmas morning renewed with the spirit of Christmas – generosity, kindness, community and love.

The family series (85 minutes) includes performances starting December 3 with Thursdays - Saturdays at 10 a.m. and additional 12:30 p.m. performances on Thursday, Dec. 3 and Thursday, Dec. 17. The performance on Friday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. will be closed-captioned, and there will be ASL interpreted performances by request.
