Phil Angotti Plays Squeeze

About this event

Join us on Sunday, November 8th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, as Chicago music staple Phil Angotti takes the Friendly stage for a special tribute performance: Phil Angotti Plays Squeeze!

A celebrated singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter from Chicago’s south side, Angotti brings a lifetime of melody-driven rock craft to every show. Widely known across the region as a quintessential Beatles interpreter—fronting projects like The Beatle Brothers, Great Moments in Vinyl, and The What4—Phil is also the current frontman and guitarist for beloved power-pop icons Material ReIssue. With 14 solo albums under his belt and a resume that includes sharing stages with Marshall Crenshaw, Richie Furay, and The Smithereens, Angotti possesses an encyclopedic musical ear and the vocal range to match. For this early Sunday evening set, he dives deep into the clever lyricism, crisp new-wave hooks, and timeless pop brilliance of Difford and Tilbrook's legendary Squeeze catalog. Grab a seat, order a drink, and enjoy two full hours of classic tunes delivered by one of Chicago’s finest.
