Beginning in the 1840s, Freedom Seekers moving toward Chicago and Canada found allies along the Fox River. Join Eric Krupa, Archivist and Curator at the St. Charles History Museum, as he uncovers their stories, along with the local abolitionists and grassroots activists who made Kane the "Banner County" of anti-slavery action in Illinois.

Krupa has lived in the Tri-Cities for most of his life and holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, with a concentration in archives. He is a co-founder of the Illinois Network to Freedom and has nominated several local sites to the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom, including the St. Charles History Museum, which recently became the first research facility in Illinois to join the Network.

Admission: $10 suggested donation. Museum members attend free; please RSVP. Location: Baker Community Center, 101 S. Second Street, St. Charles
