About this event

CAYR Play Café is a low-pressure, neuro-affirming play date for children ages 3–5, designed to give kids space to play, explore, move, create, and connect in the ways that feel right for them.

Our team will provide adult supervision and support in the play room while children explore a variety of play activities. Parents and caregivers must remain on site for the duration of the event — Play Café is not a drop-off program — but you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you’d like.

We’ll have coffee and tea available for grown-ups, along with Wi-Fi. Bring your laptop and get a little work done, read a book, chat with other parents and caregivers, or jump right into the play date with your child. There’s no expectation that you or your child participate in any particular way.

Potty training is not required. Parents and caregivers are responsible for assisting their child with any diapering or toileting needs during the event.

As with all CAYR programming, Play Café is designed through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. We welcome different communication styles, sensory preferences, movement needs, interests, and ways of engaging. Children do not need to be neurodivergent or have a diagnosis to attend. Neurodiversity includes all of us, and every child (and adult) is welcome to "come as you are."
