About this event
A program on Route 66 and cars of the 1950's will be presented on SUNDAY November 8, from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Rolling Meadows Museum, 3100 Central Road, Rolling Meadows. Route 66 celebrates its 100 - year birthday on November 11. The Rolling Meadows Museum is all about life in the 1950's era. The 1950's period is considered by many to be the heyday of classic car styles and of family car travel. The starting point of US Route 66 was in Chicago, and it traveled west through many Chicago suburban communities. Many of the early Rolling Meadows families would have travelled Route 66 on summer vacations, visited restaurants, roadside attractions, motels, and many other one-of-a-kind sights throughout the eight states on the road.
